I Take A New Name
This song was written for to accompany a "White Stone Ceremony", an annual
setting of intentions for the year ahead during which each individual
selects a new, very personal "name" as a reminder of his or her intentions.

Today I look at where I’ve been:
roads I’ve traveled, tasks I’ve done,
how I’ve felt at the setting sun.
Who am I, oh blessed One?
Who am I, oh blessed One?
I take a new name to answer by.
I take a new name for my true inner guide.
Spirit is calling me and in the depths I feel serene.
I take a new name. I follow my self home.
Today I gaze ahead to see
that which lies in front of me:
realms of possibility.
Can I truly be so free?
Can I truly be so free?
I take a new name to answer by.
I take a new name for my true inner guide.
Spirit is calling me and in the depths I feel serene.
I take a new name. I follow my self home.
Today I turn within and find
Truth abundant -- Truth that’s mine.
Pausing, I must take my time.
Spirit now will send a sign.
Spirit now will send a sign.
I take a new name to answer by.
I take a new name for my true inner guide.
Spirit is calling me and in the depths I feel serene.
I take a new name. I follow my self home.
