Sand And Stone
When it hurts so much, the things they do,
that you cant let go, pain sticks to you,
write it down with clarity upon the sands of time.
Let great winds wash over it and reach out far and wide
to blow the pain away.
Will you write each painful thought upon the face of sand
and let each grain remind you of the love of Gods own hand?
Your thoughts laid deep within the sand will not long have their say
for wind, the very breath of God your pain will wash away.
When were blessed by a gift from a dear old friend
that wed like to remember through thick and thin,
engrave each precious memory upon the smooth stone face
where winds can blow yet never loving sentiment erase,
nor blow the gift away.
Will you write each painful thought upon the face of sand
where wind, the very breath of God, will wash it from your hand?
And will you carve sweet memories upon the face of stone
then pause each day, remembering, the blessings you have known?
When were blessed by a gift from a dear old friend
that wed like to remember through thick and thin,
engrave each precious memory upon the smooth stone face
where winds can blow yet never loving sentiment erase,
nor blow the gift away.
Nor blow the gift away.
Nor blow the gift away.
